DexNav

After receiving your Pokédex from Professor Birch, your mother will catch you out of Littleroot Town and install DexNav for you! DexNav is accessible from the Start Menu. This feature allows you to see how many Pokémon are living in a given area. Once you’ve seen a Pokémon at least once, you can “locate” and find them again more easily.

As you explore the world, every 200 steps or so, DexNav will automatically detect a nearby Pokémon for you to track down. Of these, about 50% are “Hidden Pokémon” – species that only appear when using DexNav. While none of these are strictly hidden, the feature gives you more options early in the game and adds more variety to your wild encounters.

Many features from DexNav in ORAS (Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire) have also been integrated, including: Search chains to increase the rate of encountering shiny Pokémon, finding rare egg moves, and increasing IVs.

Tip: Use the cheat code JUSTSHOWME to show all available Pokémon on the DexNav, even if you’ve never seen them!
